Doctor Who: Messages'Oh, oh no, not again,' the Doctor groaned, the TARDIS' warning lights flashing. He ran his hand through his hair in a nervous gesture, and frowned, trying to see what the problem could be. 'What is it, old girl, why do you always do the thing with the lights?' he twisted a few knobs and pulled a few levers, trying to stop the flashing and figure out what was wrong, when a gentle knocking caught his ear, echoing throughout the console room.
He knew what this meant.
He tried to ignore it, refusing to pay any attention to the sound, but as it repeated itself he was easily overcome with both excitement and agitation. He paced about the room, t

The internal fan had been constantly running for as long as he had been sitting there in his armchair-- as time progressed, the faint whirring grew louder and louder, evolving into a quiet roar; heat escaping the vent on the bottom. He hadn't noticed (or maybe he just hadn't cared) that it was burning him until the computer was shut; the whirring dying down almost instantly. It wasn't too painful, but still stung a bit. At least he felt it. Felt something.
